Sr. Infrastructure Engineer I

Symetra is hiring a remote senior infrastructure engineer for the Mainframe Pod in its Infrastructure & Operations team. This role fits IT Support Group readers who specialize in enterprise systems operations, incident coordination, batch scheduling, modernization, and reliable mainframe support. What you would work on: - Oversee daily mainframe health, stability, and performance while coordinating application teams and a managed service provider. - Troubleshoot service requests and incidents and manage ESP Scheduler batch and on-demand workloads, calendars, and dependencies. - Coordinate upgrades and changes, support Endevor, Terminal Emulator, Control-D, audits, and compliance documentation. - Support distributed-platform integrations and help modernize legacy workloads through more automated and integrated practices. Good fit if: - You have 6–9 years of relevant experience, including mainframe operations, monitoring, job scheduling, troubleshooting, and support. - You know tools and technologies such as ESP Scheduler, Endevor, ACF2, CICS, DB2, MQ, and COBOL. - You have managed enterprise incident, problem, and change processes and can coordinate clearly across internal and provider teams.
