This Lumen role is a solid ITSG fit for senior network engineers who design secure WAN and transport connectivity, turn requirements into implementation packages, and support mission networks.
What you would work on:
- Develop WAN and transport design recommendations for mission networks, including site connectivity, segmentation, resiliency, and performance engineering.
- Translate operational and cybersecurity requirements into implementable field work packages for classified and unclassified environments.
- Produce HLD/LLD materials, design-review packages, logical and physical diagrams, bills of material, and configuration templates as needed.
- Define engineering requirements, interfaces, WAN designs, L0 circuit configurations, and CLLI circuit-route options across CONUS/OCONUS.
- Work with OTN and ITU-T standards plus MPLS/IP, Ethernet, VPN/IPsec, SD-WAN, and secure access patterns such as SASE/SSE where applicable.
- Partner with SAIC technical leadership and the Chief Engineer on secure WAN/transport connectivity for the Department of the Air Force C3BM/ABMS program.
Good fit if:
- You have senior-level WAN, transport, and network design experience.
- You are comfortable with secure network architecture for classified and unclassified environments.
- You can create implementation-ready engineering deliverables, diagrams, IP plans, routing/QoS policies, and security boundary requirements.
- You can work in a hybrid setup; the source notes initial work is performed in contractor-provided facilities.
