Customer Success Engineer

Tailscale is looking for a technical customer engineer to help enterprise teams deploy, configure, and troubleshoot its secure networking platform. This role fits experienced ITSG readers who combine strong networking and cloud infrastructure skills with the ability to guide customers through complex implementations.
What you would work on:
- Lead onboarding for strategic customers and help them adopt Tailscale successfully.
- Diagnose and resolve platform issues involving configuration, integrations, and implementation.
- Advise customers on networking, VPN, security, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps use cases.
- Coordinate critical escalations with support, engineering, product, and sales teams.
- Create technical documentation, FAQs, guides, and customer training resources.
Good fit if:
- You have 6+ years in technical roles, including at least 2 years working directly with customers.
- You understand networking, VPNs, and security principles, plus AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- You have worked with Docker, Kubernetes, or related DevOps technologies.
- You can troubleshoot methodically and explain complex technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
